This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies Club Habano uses, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences. We keep this set intentionally small — focused on security, age verification, and remembering your choices.

01.What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — such as your browser’s local storage — let a site remember information between visits. Club Habano uses a deliberately small set of these technologies, focused on keeping you signed in, confirming your age, and remembering your preferences.

This Cookie Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more broadly.

02.How We Use Cookies

We group what we store into two categories:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for the platform to function: keeping your session secure and recording that you have passed age verification. These cannot be switched off through a consent banner because the site would not work without them.
  • Functional preferences — stored in your browser’s local storage to remember choices such as your guest cart, theme, and display settings. These stay on your device and are not transmitted as cookies on every request.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share your information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

03.Cookies We Set

The following first-party cookies are strictly necessary. They are served from the Club Habano domain (our same-origin proxy forwards the session cookie to our backend):

  • clubhabano_session — keeps you securely signed in across pages and authenticates your requests to our backend. Set when you log in; cleared when you log out or it expires. Without it, you cannot bid, buy, sell, or access your account.
  • ch_age_verified — records that you have confirmed you are 21+ at the age gate, so you are not prompted on every visit. Stores only a yes/no flag (not your date of birth) and persists for up to one year.

04.Local Storage We Use

The following preferences are stored in your browser’s local storage. They remain on your device, are never sent to advertisers, and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings:

  • Guest cart token — links your cart to your device before you sign in, so items you add are not lost. It is merged into your account when you log in.
  • Theme — remembers your light/dark display choice.
  • Display & unit preferences — remembers options such as catalog grid layout and your preferred measurement units.
  • Workflow preferences — remembers choices such as suppressing the bid-confirmation prompt and recent listing drafts, to streamline repeat actions.

05.Third-Party Services & Analytics

Payments are handled by our third-party payment processor, which may set its own cookies within its secure payment flow to process transactions and prevent fraud. Those cookies are governed by the processor’s own privacy and cookie policies.

We do not currently load third-party advertising trackers. If we introduce analytics or other non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent before they are set.

06.Managing Your Preferences

You can control or delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or remove them, and clear stored site data. Helpful guides are published by the makers of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.

Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in and may re-trigger the age gate on every visit, so parts of the platform will not work as intended.

07.Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control

Because we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, there is no behavioral tracking for a “Do Not Track” (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal to opt out of. We honor these signals as an expression of your preference and will continue to limit our use of cookies to the essential and functional purposes described above.

08.Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our platform evolves. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
